Can’t connect to wireless network (Windows 7)

A few days ago I went to a place where I was before and previously connected my laptop to WiFi. The network and password didn’t change but I couldnt’ connect. Near the network’s name it was a strange error message “The settings saved on this computer for the network do not match the requirements of the network. that I couldn’t surpass. After trying all kind of fixes like turning off and on the adapter or trying to restart my laptop a friend showed me how to get rid of the annoying message. Here are the steps I had to do:

  1. Right click on the wireless network and choose Properties
  2. In the security tab, choose: Security Type = No authentication (Open) and click Ok
  3. Notice you are not connected to that WiFi network anymore so you can try to connect again by clicking Connect and typing the password

This is it. I don’t really why you need to do these steps but it helps.
